No more Taxachusetts? About time....best of luck, Carla, Michael, and Citizens.
Senator Montigny: "the start of fiscal Darwinism," hmm? Darwinism, briefly stated as survival of the fittest. Evolution, optimizing, making efficient. I can see how you wouldn't want that in government, but most people would think that is a good thing. Hey, we have to live on our budget, why don't you folks try it? Start with eliminating that automatic annual pay increase. Even private companies that do that, theirs is usually between 2-8%, and when the money's not there, they postpone or cancel them. I just got a pay raise that has been in the making for over a year. Try life in the real world, Senator.
Oh, and Mr. Widmer: You need to change the name of your organization; there is no way you speak for the 'Taxpayers,' you speak for the Taxtakers.

Oh. My. God. Please, someone kill whoever came up with the idea of the 'reality' show. The music one I can almost deal with, since it's kinda like a talent show, with the exception that as soon as you win, you are now a marketable commodity set to churn out the next year's worth of pap. This one is just stupid, insulting, and kinda taunting [at the end of the year, they go back to their 'rural, lower-middle class' life? No resentment there, I'm sure.]
