Kennedy's Dog Leaps on Worker (washingtonpost.com)
Wait a minute--he's got his dog at work? And not on a leash? Gee, if my dog's without a leash for a minute, he gets picked up and taken to the pound. Oh, that's right, one set of laws for the peons and another for the lawmakers.

"Irregularities?"
Oh, Clinton/Reno-speak; "irregularities" means "I didn't win." If "what the numbers look like" can identify "irregularities", then obviously you can read minds and see how people 'wanted' to vote; then obviously we don't need elections in the first place!
Of course, I don't think I'd want people supporting me who are either a)too stupid to know how to vote or b) unable to prepare for an election day with two years of working on the technology.
Goes to show, again, that this Clintonified push for technology at all costs [that resulted in the stock market implosion of the last couple years] can't do a damn thing if you have MORONS using the technology.

CNN.com - Studio offers 'Harry Potter' for download - September 10, 2002

While I'm all for making use of broadband and high tech, to me this sounds, well, stupid.
Okay--so I'm going to pay either 2.99 or 3.99, for library or newer films, using my bandwidth to download up to or over 700 mb....taking 2+ hours to download them....to watch a film on my computer screen, in my office, within 24 hours? If I'm going to pay to download a movie that size, I'd rather wait for Netflix to deliver me one. Or even spend the 2-4 bucks at Blockbuster and get the movie instantly....by the time you finished downloading the movie, you could have gone to BB [or your local video parlor of choice,] picked out a movie, eaten dinner, made popcorn, and settled down in front of your 35" TV with 5.1 surround sound system and started enjoying a flick.
This is sad, because this is exactly what the RIAA and music companies need to do, but I see this failing incredibly with regards to movies.

Superman? Nope, just a regular man with incredible willpower and positive attitude. You go, Chris.

"Diversity?"
Only for us....
Scroll down to "'Diversity' Defined".
"The official told him "that race and skin color were important issues because 'Baltimore is predominantly black and the state of Maryland has a significant black presence.'" "
Now, if this paragraph were written
"The official told him "that race and skin color were important issues because 'Baltimore is predominantly WHITE and the state of Maryland has a significant WHITE presence,'" the NAACP, Mr Mfume, and the Rev-rund Jackson would have a million people marching there in two day's time. That latter phrase might be called racist, and justifiably so. Why is the former not?

"he says he was not hired because he is "light-skinned, of Afro-Lebanese origin and not an African-American.""
Again, rephrase this as
"he says he was hired because he is "light-skinned, of Afro-Lebanese origin and not an African-American" and you've got an ACLU lawsuit and front pages across the country.
I am certainly against racism, and all for equality, but that goes both ways. The funny, yet sad, thing is, the fellow in question actually is of African-Lebanese descent, has been an assoc. VP for diversity at Univ S. Florida, and has master's degree in African and AfroAmerican History.
But he doesn't LOOK black. Isn't that exactly where we were fifty years ago, only now the shoe is on the other foot? Oh--what's the argument now--Well, it's our turn to be unfair. If that's the case, fine, I can understand a little eye-for-an-eye. But don't be hypocritical liars and say that racism is wrong then, because obviously it isn't, if the 'revenge' motive is of a higher priority.
